PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

ARMORCHEM SP-1000 GRAY PRIMER is an air dry, high solids, fast drying, alkyd primer designed to protect structural steel in preconstruction outdoor exposure. The high solids content ensures adequate protection of sharp edges, corners and welds, while maintaining low VOC. This product is designed to be applied directly to prepared steel surfaces, and meets SSPC-Paint Specification No. 15.

The system tested (unless otherwise indicated) is steel prepared in accordance with SSPC-SP2, sprayed with one coat of ARMORCHEM SP 1000 GRAY PRIMER and allowed to air dry for 7 days.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

 

Surface must be clean, dry, and in sound condition. Remove all dirt, loose rust, and other foreign material in accordance with SSPC-SP2 to ensure adequate adhesion.

REMARKS

Refer to MSDS sheet before use. Contact your ARMORCHEM representative for additional technical data and instructions. This product should be stored indoors at temperatures between 35 – 100 degrees F. It is also not recommended to paint on surfaces below 50’F. Adhesion problems may be experienced. ARMORCHEM SP-1000 GRAY PRIMER is a modified alkyd, lead and chrome free shop primer meeting the performance requirements of the Steel Structures Paint Council, Paint specification #25. This product can be welded through to yield sound welds. This primer can be recoated after 1 hour.
