Scope:
This specification covers a quick-drying shop paint for open web and long span steel joists. Two types are available under this specification. Type I covers a fast drying red oxide shop paint suitable as a base coat for subsequent application of compatible field paints. Both paints(Type I & II) are intended as shop paints that provide temporary protection for the steel joists during the delivery and erection.
ArmorChem 2500 Hybrid Primers are suitable for exposures in Environmental Zone 1A(interior, normally dry) and are intended for production line application. When thinned to the proper viscosity, they may be applied over dry, oil-free steel surfaces by spray, dipping, flow coating, electrostatic spray, or other suitable methods.
The color of ArmorChem 2500 Hybrid Primers can be various shades of red and is to be agreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier.
